Yesterday my hamster Shadow died. We found her in the cage, dead. She was laying on her back. We put her in a box with hamster bedding and then tied bags around it. My dad and maybe my friend are coming tonight to dig a hole and bury her. I will miss her, but she lived a good life. None of the cats or dogs ever got to her. -Gillian
This was Gillian's first experience dealing with the death of a pet and she did well. She held Shadow and gave her a kiss goodbye. -Shannon

You guys, I'm so sorry to hear about Shadow. It's so sad to say goodbye to a beloved friend. She was lucky to live with such great people.
Meanwhile, I'm terribly relieved to hear that Mike is OK. Whew! One of the cats I grew up with got those absesses on his head--they were disgusting, and then one day it would pop. It was about the size of a golfball, and I always wondered where all the stuff ended up. (Probably in my bed or something. Ew.)
Yeah, I'm really glad Mike is okay. He gave me quite a scare. He really is getting old though. I don't think he'll still be around a year from now. Earlier today he sneezed and lost his balance. He weighs a little under 7lbs. :(
Gillian, we were sorry to hear about Shadow. Gilligan almost died a week ago. He didn't eat or drink for over a week and just laid in his bed. Uncle Scott had to feed him baby food and water with an eye dropper finally. Suddenly one day he just got up and went outside for a walk and seemed fine. :)
